Dr. Angela Walk provides comprehensive care by blending the latest soft tissue techniques with chiropractic manipulation to address each component of your musculoskeletal problem.
Chiropractic Manipulative Therapy (Adjusting)
When a joint is fixated or stuck, the doctor utilizes chiropractic manipulation or an adjustment to help restore normal motion and function. Generally, this technique employs gentle pressure or a shallow thrust to restore optimal motion. An adjustment is sometimes accompanied by a pop, which results from the joints release of nitrogen gas (the same pop heard when one "cracks their knuckles"). Neurologically, an adjustment will inhibit pain, help relax muscles, and will improve neuromuscular coordination.
Myofascial Release
MFR is a soft tissue technique that combines massage and stretching that treats many muscle, tendon, ligament, and fascia problems including headaches, back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, shoulder pain, sciatica, plantar fasciitis, and tennis elbow. It is designed to increase range of motion, eliminate trigger points and soft tissue adhesions. Dr. Walk has had extensive training with this technique and the results are remarkable.
